work from home scam alertJust wanted to warn you all that there is a fake email going around from someone claiming to be Darwin’s Data. It’s very similar to the fake Pinecone Research email that was going around. Basically the email says that you’ve been selected for a Western Union study that will pay you $250 for your participation. The study requires that you cash a check for over $1,000 that gets mailed to you, then Western Union off part of it … basically if you do this you’re sending money to scammers and you’re the one who will end up getting in trouble with your bank when the check turns out to be fake. So don’t risk it! If you click the “join now” link that comes in the email, it takes you to a website address that you can clearly see is NOT darwinsdata.com.

Darwin’s Data is a legit panel that I’ve reviewed here. Many people who have never even registered with Darwin’s are receiving this email. Survey Police has done an excellent job of exposing this scam and has all the additional details for you here.

Keep in mind that you should never, ever participate in any so-called Western Union studies. Anytime you get an email or work from home job proposal that mentions Western Union or wiring money you get from a mailed check to anywhere else as part of your job or part of a study, it’s definitely a scam.
